Circuit Park Zandvoort

The Circuit Park Zandvoort, designed by John Hugenholtz, opened in 1948 and hosted the Dutch Grand Prix from 1952 to 1985. With its testing blend of straightaways, tight, medium and high speed turns, it is one of the most historic and challenging road courses in all of Europe.
Zandvoort features a running over and around the sand dunes north of Zandvoort (close to Amsterdam, the Netherlands), just a few hundred meters from the coast line. The track includes the Arie Luyendyk-bocht, which honors the two-time Dutch Indianapolis 500 winner.
The rain-swept ’71 Dutch Grand Prix showed a great battle between Jacky Ickx and Pedro Rodriguez, the two rainmeisters of that time. Of course Ickx won.
